Jim Corbett Safari Zones
India's oldest tiger reserve has eight distinct safari zones across its core and buffer areas. From the legendary Dhikala grasslands to the year-round Jhirna zone — our safari desk books and holds permits for all of them.
Choose Your Safari Zone
Each zone has distinct terrain, wildlife and seasonal access. Our naturalist guides help you choose based on your dates, interests and previous experience.
Closest to Jungle Junction (8 km). Sal forests, open pattas and the highest consistent tiger sighting rate. Best for first-time visitors and school groups.
The iconic heartland — 170 sq km of chaur grasslands, Ramganga reservoir, highest tiger density. The definitive Jim Corbett experience.
The only core zone open year-round including monsoon. Rich in sloth bear, leopard and the rare sambar at night-vision ranges.
Follows the Kosi River through riverine forest. 200+ bird species, crocodiles and excellent tiger territory along the river corridor.
Buffer zone open 365 days. Best Corbett zone for leopard sightings. Open during monsoon when core zones close — a lush, atmospheric experience.
Mountain rivers, gorges and spectacular Himalayan birdlife. Mugger crocodile near-certain. Quieter and more dramatic than southern zones.
Buffer zone with rare walking safari option. Great hornbill, wild dog and the ancient Sitabani temple within dense mixed forest.
Wetlands, marshes and grassland. Premier migratory bird zone (Oct–Feb). Best Corbett zone for hog deer and marsh crocodile.
